Blood Pool

Post by Terrainosaur »

I made a simple set of terrain for a friend of mine. It included two hedges, five hills, five crags, and two forest bases. However it needed something different and since he plays Warriors of Chaos, I made a pool of blood.

The base is foamcore. The built-up edges are pink foam insulation cut in a donut shape.

To make the pool, I first painted the bottom with red swirls. Then I poured Woodland Scenics' Realistic Water over it. I let that dry. Then I put red paint on a brush and flicked it over the surface, let it dry, and poured another clear layer over the top. I did this several times, until the swirls at the bottom weren't as visible, and the pool looked like it had depth.

The last thing was applying the green turf without getting any stuck in the pool!

And the rest

Here's the rest of the set.

These are bases for forests, indicating its boundaries. You can pick up the trees then to move miniatures into or through it. They're just flocked foamcore.

These five crags are impassable terrain. Unlike other crags, I sloped the tops so that miniatures couldn't be set on top of them.

Five hills of varying sizes:

Two hedges. They're fiberboard bases with green scrub-pads glued to them, then covered with turf.
