Scenic shale bases

Post by Terrainosaur »

When building my orc and goblin army (finally), I decided I wanted scenic bases. Those are bases with landscape on them ... more than a little flock or lichen.

I found this site with a good tutorial for building scenic bases with Sculpey clay. In about a day, I can build enough bases for several units. The cost is under $20 for the whole army.

Here are some spider riders lined up. The artificial shale doesn't extend over the edge of each miniature, so they still rank up nicely.

The orc warboss is another example.

And these 50mm bases for the bolt throwers are larger versions. With a little sand and static grass, it really makes the miniatures stand out.
