Blast Bases (Scorch or Explosion Marks)

I was practicing painting black marks on my Necromunda factory floor.
Then I glanced over and saw ths crackle paint and I thought ‘Wow that looks like the center of a blast.
So I made these, using crackle paint in the center, in different ways.

Playing with Crackle Paints

I was playing with various crackle paints to see how they compared and what you could do with them. The bottom two (brown and green) are Citadel Agrellan Earth. The upper left and right (purple and blue) are Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy. The top one (brown) is probably Pebeo Studio Modelling Paste Crackling Effect.

Attempt at green marble

This 4″ by 4″ wood tile was practice painting a green marble effect. I did it ages ago – at least 2014 or before then. Anyway I would need to practice more before it looked accurate.

Vampire Counts Display Board

This is the carrying board I used for my Vampire Counts army. It’s 2′ by 2′ with pads underneath and handles. The idea was my undead army was marching forth out of a castle’s gates. I was tired of going to games and they’d say, ‘Oh I’ve got like 4,000 more points at home.’ Sure you do. So I brought all of my painted Vampire Counts troops to the tournament. 132 skeletons, 98 zombies, 32 dire wolves, etc. I have more now.

When I moved from the US to the UK, I didn’t want to bring this with me, so I tore it apart and threw it in the trash.
